Music composing and computer programming. Two complete different worlds, right? Wrong.
Have you heard of Impromptu?
“Impromptu is an OSX programming environment for composers, sound artists, VJ’s and graphic artists with an interest in live or interactive programming. Impromptu is a Scheme language environment, a member of the Lisp family of languages.”
Live interactive programming? Chek it out:
This is Strange Places from Andrew Sorensen. And if you ak me, it’s amazing!
“Create Digital Music” published a very cool article about different ways of performing Live Electronic Music. The question still persists: Is it really live? I agree with one of the comments: “brian eno said long ago that the music created in a studio actually shouldn’t be called music, because in essence it was something completely different from what came before.”
