Loopseque, a circular sequencer for iPad

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

App developers are really trying to innovate when creating sequencers to touchscreen mobile hardware.

This one seems at the same time functional and very attractive! They said the next version will accept user created sample packs and track recording!

Do you think touch-screen will revolutionize the way we make music?

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

Just saw this amazing video showing Simon “god” Posford, Raja Ram and Benji Vaughan together in Benji studio in london producing their next track “The God Particle”. Very interesting to see how some of their sounds are recorded and processed, not synthesized!

Since we are talking bout Twisted Records, check ou this video with Simon Posford playing live acoustic guitar and jaming with “Around the World in a Tea Daze” theme.

Loud – Making of “Free From Conceptual Thoughts”

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

You’ve read here about the latest ambient release by Eitan Reiter on Aleph Zero but maybe you don’t know that before that he already released two albums with Kobi Toledano as the psy-trance project Loud.

They recently published a cool video showing their studio and some of the creative process behind the making of their third album. Interesting to know that they mix all the tracks in a different studio…

NanoStudio

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

The dream of creating music using  mobile phones is coming true. Yesterday I used the NanoStudio on a friends iPhone (I don’t have one) and thought it was amazing! The user interface is very attractive and functional but the the best thing is the sound. Incredible for an mobile app!

Now I want a iPhone only to use this!

Soundbeam

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Each day that passes I think we are approaching “Minority Report” type of controllers more and more. Have you heard of Soundbeam?

“Soundbeam is an award-winning device which uses sensor technology to translate body movement into digitally generated sound and image. In performance, education and therapy, this unique creative and expressive medium is now widely recognised as ‘must-have’ 21st Century technology.”

The applications on music, specially helping musicians with disabilities, is jaw-dropping. But imagine the multitude of applications when combined with other technologies and areas, like controlling home appliances, cars, sports… What else can you think of?

Have you heard of Siftables?

“Siftables are cookie-sized computers with motion sensing, neighbor detection, graphical display, and wireless communication. They act in concert to form a single interface: users physically manipulate them – piling, grouping, sorting – to interact with digital information and media. Siftables provides a new platform on which to implement tangible, visual and mobile applications.”

AudioLemon published a great new synth based on Siftables! Have a look:
